Siena Zisa is a Seasonal Research Technician in the Acquafredda Lab and a 2026 graduate of Monmouth University, where she earned a B.S. in Marine & Environmental Biology and Policy with a minor in GIS. Her experience spans eDNA research on elasmobranch distribution along the New Jersey coast, international ocean-climate policy work with the Global Ocean Forum and Urban Coast Institute, including contributions to the COP29 and COP30 Virtual Ocean Pavilions, and community-based coastal stewardship as President of Love Blue Monmouth. She is passionate about pollution mitigation, restoration aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, and connecting science to the communities that depend on healthy coastal ecosystems. At her core, she is happiest when her work leaves the world better than she found it. Siena is currently planning to pursue graduate education.
