Jocelyn Jamison joined the Acquafredda Lab in 2026 as a work-study student from Cape May County Technical High School.
Before joining the lab, Jocelyn completed the Apprenticeship in Shellfish Aquaculture Program (ASAP). As an ASAP apprentice, Jocelyn worked on an oyster farm and cold-storage processing facility, packing up and tumbling oysters. She grew a deep passion for aquaculture and wanted to further her education by working at the Acquafredda Lab.
As a member of the Acquafredda Lab, Jocelyn expanded her knowledge of bivalve husbandry. She helped to maintain the lab’s stock of experimental surfclams and contributed to various research projects. In the fall of 2026, she will continue her marine biology education at the University of Maine at Machias.
